Hockey players of the Russian youth team Matvey Michkov and Danila Yurov will remain in Canada for another 10 days in quarantine. This was announced on Thursday, December 30, at the Russian Ice Hockey Federation.
“Michkov and Yurov remain in quarantine for 10 days. The team will depart today with a change in Frankfurt and will arrive in Moscow on January 1, ”the TASS press service quotes.
The federation also clarified that for the purposes of epidemiological safety, since the players were in contact with the sick, the meeting at the airport was prohibited.
The cancellation of the youth ice hockey world championship due to outbreaks of coronavirus in several teams became known on December 29. The competition was supposed to end on January 6th.
The World Youth Championship kicked off in Canada on December 26, 2021. After a few matches, three teams received a technical defeat due to the positive tests of the players for the coronavirus.
