Bayern’s new coach is relying partly on familiar players. Kompany is bringing people into his team, some of whom he has already worked with.
The new coaching team of FC Bayern Munich is complete. Head coach Vincent Kompany (38) is supported by the three assistant coaches Aaron Danks (39), René Marić (31) and Floribert N’Galula (37) at the German football record champions. Bram Geers (31) as athletic trainer and Rodyse Munienge as assistant in the organizational area complete the Belgian’s support staff, as the Munich-based team announced.
Danks was most recently assistant coach at Middlesbrough FC and assisted Kompany at RSC Anderlecht. Former professional N’Galula was already Kompany’s assistant at Burnley FC, as was Geers as athletics coach and Munienge for the organizational area. Geers and Munienge also previously worked in Kompany’s staff at RSC Anderlecht.
The Munich team will begin preparing for the new Bundesliga season on July 15. The first players will undergo a medical examination and performance diagnostics before Kompany lets the professionals already present sweat on the pitch for the first time on July 17. The squad of the recently dethroned Munich team will not be complete after the European Championship and the Copa América.
