The Nations League is the last test for the German volleyball players before the Olympic Games. The team missed the quarter-finals, but once again showed an impressive performance.
After another defeat, the German volleyball players no longer have a chance of reaching the quarter-finals of the Nations League (VNL). The team of national coach Michal Winiarski lost a close match in Manila to the USA 1:3 (23:25, 25:21, 24:26, 23:25). The best attacker in the German team was exceptional player Georg Grozer with 16 points.
The selection of the German Volleyball Association (DVV) now has four wins and seven losses. The team can no longer jump into one of the top eight places that qualify for the knockout round.
The VNL is the last tournament for the volleyball players before the Olympic Games and was primarily used as preparation. Coach Winiarski has repeatedly rested important players in recent weeks. In the last match, the German team will face Iran on Sunday. The Olympic dress rehearsal is scheduled for July 21 in Saarbrücken against Brazil.
