When asked about his chances by the British broadcaster BBC, Djokovic replied that he had not come just to play a few rounds. The world number two said he would take it day by day and decide with his team in the next four to six days. “If I know that I can play close to the maximum or at the maximum, then I will play. If not, then I will give someone else the chance to play,” explained Djokovic.
At the French Open, he suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during his round of 16 victory against the Argentinian Francisco Cerúndolo.
