DFB team without Wirtz, but with Sané
Despite all the doom and gloom, Nagelsmann is also relying on Kai Havertz against Denmark. Niclas Füllkrug, who has already impressed several times as a substitute, will remain on the bench as usual. Maximilian Mittelstädt will also be there, having to make way for David Raum. Florian Wirtz will also not be in the starting eleven, with Leroy Sané taking over. Nico Schlotterbeck will replace the suspended Jonathan Tah.
Nagelsmann’s eleven comes out of the preliminary round with two wins against Scotland and Hungary and a draw against Switzerland. Opponent Denmark qualified for the round of 16 as second in Group C without a single win in the preliminary round.
In the first round of 16 match on Saturday, which kicked off at 6 p.m., Switzerland surprisingly defeated defending champion Italy 2-0. The winners of the round of 16 matches advance to the quarter-finals, the losers are eliminated from the tournament.
