Transfer hat trick at Galatasaray: Van Aanholt, Cicaldau and Boey are coming

Galatasaray bagged three reinforcements within a few hours. Among others, Holland’s EM driver van Aanholt is coming to Istanbul.

Galatasaray signed three players within a few hours: As the Turkish top club reported to the stock exchange on Friday evening, left-back Patrick van Aanholt, midfielder Alexandru Cicaldau and right-back Sacha Boey are moving to Istanbul. After reporting to the stock exchange, the players are usually officially introduced as newcomers shortly thereafter.

Van Aanholt is coming on a free transfer after his contract with English first division club Crystal Palace expired on June 30th. The 30-year-old Dutchman recently took part in the European Championship with Oranje and was on the field in all four tournament games. Van Aanholt moved from PSV Eindhoven to Chelsea in the summer of 2007 at the age of 17 and was under contract with the Blues for a total of seven years. However, it was almost always loaned out during this period before moving to Sunderland in 2014. He had played at Crystal Palace since the beginning of 2017 and completed 22 Premier League games last season.

Galatasaray: Cicaldau and Boey are also coming

For Cicaldau, Galatasaray pays a six million euro transfer fee to Universitatea Craiova. The 24-year-old Romanian international can play on the six, eight or ten.

With Boey, a 20-year-old talent from Stade Rennes is also coming to Istanbul. Rennes had loaned the French junior international to Dijon last season, where he made 26 Ligue 1 appearances. The transfer fee for Boey is one million euros.
