Spain’s super talent: Report: PSG denies record offer for teenager Yamal

Does PSG have it or doesn’t the French champion have it? It’s about an alleged record offer for Spain’s 16-year-old football jewel.

According to “Sport” in Spain, Paris Saint-Germain has rejected a report that the French football champions had already made an offer of 250 million euros to FC Barcelona for super-teenager Lamine Yamal before the European Championship. The Spanish news agency EFE had reported on the record offer and wrote that it probably came from PSG.

The club, where former Barça professional and coach, as well as ex-national coach Luis Enrique, is responsible for the sport, told “Sport” that this was not true. However, there have been reports for months about the Parisians’ alleged courting of the highly talented 16-year-old football teenager.

Record transfer fee so far: Neymar move from Barça to PSG

In March, Barcelona president Joan Laporta had already reported an offer of 200 million euros – without naming the interested party. At the time, “Mundo deportivo” reported that it was an offer from PSG. The highest transfer fee to date is 222 million. In the summer of 2017, the Brazilian Neymar (32) moved from FC Barcelona to PSG for this amount.

Yamal’s contract with the Catalans, who have been plagued by serious financial problems for some time, is valid until the end of June 2026. The exit clause in his contract is said to be one billion euros. Former Bayern and German national coach Hansi Flick has been in office at FC Barcelona since this season.

Yamal has already made his mark as the youngest goalscorer at a European Championship. On Sunday, one day after his 17th birthday, he can still win the title with Spain in the European Championship final against England at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
