FIFA ruled against Independiente again: the details

Independent received a ruling against him from the FIFAthe world football regulatory body, through the Dispute Resolution Chamber, which means it will have to pay the striker Martin Cauteruccio the sum of 211 million pesos as unpaid wages.

The Uruguayan attacker, who was part of the squad between 2023 and 2024where he played 38 games and scored 12 goals, denounced the “Red” team last year for non-payment of salaries and bonuses October, November and December.

Not receiving the money, the player declared himself a free agent while his contract with the institution was in force and he signed for the Sporting Cristal of Peru.

For its part, Independentin response to the claim made by the player, decided to sue him for 5 million dollarsclaiming that the corresponding amount of the debt had already been paid with two checks sent to Argentine Football Players’ Association.

However, the demand for the whole Avellaneda was declared inadmissible by the FIFAso they will have to pay the entire debt to the Uruguayan footballer.

Since the salary owed corresponds to last year, the amount to be paid could be higher due to the loss in value of the peso.

The club still has the possibility to claim and appeal the decision to Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The leadership maintains that this is one of the measures that could be implemented to resolve the situation.

While this is a setback for the “Rojo”, one of the institution’s biggest concerns is about to be resolved.

The club reached an agreement in principle with Fernando Gaibora footballer to whom the club owes to pay 6 million dollarsafter about four years.

This is one of the biggest inhibitions you have. Independent and one for which you cannot incorporate players in this transfer market.
