The winner of the Tour de Ski multi-day ski race was the Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo. This was reported on January 4 by the Sport-Express newspaper.
According to the newspaper, Klebo won in the overall standings with a score of 2 hours 24 minutes and 56 seconds. Russian skier Alexander Bolshunov finished second, 2 minutes and 3.2 seconds behind the leader. Finn Ivo Niskanen was in third position (+3.14.5).
The rest of the Russians are not far behind the overall standings. So, Denis Spitsov took fourth place (+3.21.5). Yakimushkin finished seventh (+4.28.0). Alexey Chervotkin in 13th position (+6.06.6).
According to “Sport-Express”, the winner of the final race of the “Tour” – a 10-kilometer mass start – was the Norwegian Shur Rete. He covered the route in 31 minutes and 42.1 seconds. The second place was taken by Russian Denis Spitsov, 2.4 seconds behind the winner. The third was the German Friedrich Moch – +18.9. Klebo took fifth place, Bolshunov took seventh in the mass start.
Klebo won the Tour de Ski for the second time in his career. Bolshunov won in the two previous race events.
Earlier on the same day, Natalya Nepryaeva became the first Russian skier to win the overall standings of the Tour de Ski race.
The head coach of the Russian national skiing team Elena Vyalbe commented on Nepryaeva’s victory, noting that she had been waiting for this victory from women for 11 years.
The skier herself said that the final race of the Tour de Ski was the hardest for her of the season. According to the athlete, she did not know what to expect, but she was able to pull herself together and give her last strength in the 10 km mass start free style.
The best result so far for Russia among women was the second place. Nepryaeva twice became the second in the seasons 2018/19 and 2019/20.
