Euro 2024: How Spain and England will play in the final

Euro 2024: How Spain and England will play in the final

Both teams now have tried and tested lineups: however, two players from Spain are returning after suspensions. And Southgate is also changing one position in his Three Lions.

The Spaniards came up with their line-up early. Pedri still has an injured knee after Toni Kroos’ foul in the quarter-final against Germany. However, players Carvajal (yellow-red) and Le Normand (yellow), who were suspended in the semi-final, are back in the starting eleven. They were replaced in the semi-final by Jesus Navas and Nacho, who are now back on the bench.

Spain’s line-up is: Unai Simon in goal, Carvajal, Le Normand, Laporte, Cucurella in defence, Rodri, Fabian and Dani Olmo in midfield, and Lamine Yamal, Morata and Nico Williams in attack.

This means that Spain’s coach Luis de la Fuente lets his team play in their tried and tested formation.

England’s line-up for the final with only one change

England coach Gareth Southgate also has a well-rehearsed team. He has only changed one position compared to the semi-final: Shaw plays on the left for Trippier. This means that the English are apparently playing a back four.

England’s line-up is: Pickford in goal, Shaw, Guehi, Stones and Walker in defence, Rice, Mainoo and Saka in midfield – and Bellingham, Foden and Kane in attack.
