At this tournament, UEFA changed the rules for choosing the top scorer. So now there are six.
Six players share the title of top scorer at the 2024 European Football Championship. German international Jamal Musiala as well as Harry Kane (England), Dani Olmo (Spain), Ivan Schranz (Slovakia), Cody Gakpo (Netherlands) and Georges Mikautadze (Georgia) have scored three goals at the end of the tournament and have to share the “Golden Boot” award for the best European Championship goalscorer.
Before the European Championship final on Sunday evening between Spain and England (2:1), UEFA confirmed once again that the number of goals scored was the only criterion. Assists or minutes played were not taken into account in the ranking.

European Championship top scorer: Dani Olmo would have deserved the trophy – all by himself
Otherwise, the Spaniard Olmo would have won the personal trophy on his own thanks to his two assists. And he deserved it twice after he cleared the ball off the line with his head in the final. That was as important as a goal.
With 14 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo leads the all-time top scorer list of all European Championship tournaments by a wide margin. The 39-year-old Portuguese took part in six European Championships and was one of the top scorers in a tournament in 2021 (5 goals) and 2012 (3 goals). The record for the most goals at a single European Championship is held by the Frenchman Michel Platini: in 1984 he scored nine times in just five games.
