A misunderstanding between the owner of the Krasnodar football club, Sergei Galitsky, and the team’s head coach, Viktor Goncharenko, could be one of the reasons for the latter’s dismissal. This version was reported on January 5 by the Championship website.
This, according to the journalists, is indicated by a cold farewell to the coach, who was not thanked for his work at Krasnodar.
Also, according to some reports, Galitsky was dissatisfied with the team’s style of play. The owner and the coach had disagreements over the transfer policy. The relationship between the management of FC and Goncharenko deteriorated even more after the dismissal of assistant coach Ruslan Zubik.
“Viktor Mikhailovich was very upset by this. He did something like he did at CSKA. For several days, the coach simply did not pick up the pipes from the management of the Krasnodar club, ”a source told reporters.
Goncharenko’s departure from the post of coach was also appreciated by sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev.
“It seems to me that something is going wrong with Goncharenko in the last months of his work. In the previous place, it turned out poorly. Goncharenko is now in some kind of crisis. Probably, this is transmitted to the players. He is not a bad specialist, but he was losing the threads of management, it seems to me, ”Guberniev told the Sport-Express website.
Krasnodar earlier that day announced the resignation of Goncharenko. Together with him, two of his assistants left the club.
Goncharenko’s contract with Krasnodar was in effect until the summer of 2023. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2021, the Belarusian specialist headed FC CSKA.
Shota Arveladze and former Lokomotiv coach Marko Nikolic are considered as possible candidates for the post of head coach of FC Krasnodar.
