The ice hockey league continues to fight against cancellations due to the corona virus. This also affects the Steinbach Black Wings, where twelve players have now tested positive for Covid19. Logically, the home game against Salzburg on Thursday was canceled. The away game at HC Pustertal on January 9th also wobbles. Currently, it cannot be assumed that Linz will be able to return to play on Sunday.
The problems with the corona virus also exist elsewhere: Ljubljana was quarantined by the Slovenian government, and according to rumors, there were also several positive tests in Fehervar and Innsbruck. While the topic is dealt with very openly (but discreetly for the individual players) in Linz, the league only gives “medical precautionary measures” as the reason for the game cancellations.
