During the match, the Argentine players were attacked from the stands after a goal that would have meant a 2-2 draw, which led to the temporary suspension of the match.
The AFA, headed by Claudio Tapia, filed a formal complaint with FIFA, requesting that measures be taken and those responsible be punished. They also asked that Argentina be awarded the victory due to the attacks suffered by its players.
The head of the Argentine delegation’s mission, Carlos Ferrea, supported this action and criticized the whistles and attacks against the team.
