BVB looks at advisor to Juventus defender Merih Demiral

Borussia Dortmund has Merih Demiral as reinforcement for the defense on the note. Juventus Turin expects an official offer soon.

Borussia Dortmund could prominently strengthen their defense in the current transfer summer. According to information from Goal and SPOX BVB is in contact with Merih Demiral’s advisor. The Turkish central defender of Juventus Turin is on Dortmund’s wish list, but there have still been no talks between the two clubs.

However, Juve assumes that BVB will make an official offer for the 23-year-old European Championship driver in the coming days. The old lady’s transfer demands amount to 40 million euros. A resale participation for Demiral’s ex-club Sassuolo Calcio would not be due for Juventus, as the corresponding clause has expired. Demiral’s contract runs until 2024.

BVB is looking for reinforcement, Demiral is only a substitute player at Juventus

For the Bianconeri Demiral has so far been used in 32 competitive games. The 24-time Turkish international never got beyond the role of the supplementary player behind the Italian EM duo Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini as well as Matthijs de Ligt.

Meanwhile, BVB is still looking for a central defender to complement the existing quartet of Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Soumaila Coulibaly. After many injuries, Zagadou is still waiting for his breakthrough and will be out until the end of September after another knee operation. The 17-year-old Coulibaly is above all a promise for the future and is also not available for a long time after his cruciate ligament rupture. This means that BVB can currently fall back on only two trained central defenders in Hummels and Akanji.
