The morning after her bronze medal, Isabel Gose is once again challenged at the Olympics. She is not good enough to make it to the finals with the relay team.
Isabel Gose was eliminated around 15 hours after winning Olympic bronze in the 1500 meters with the 4×200 meter freestyle relay. The quartet of Gose, Nicole Maier, Julia Mrozinski and Nele Schulze swam a time of 7:55.57 minutes. That meant tenth place in the preliminary heats. For the final, they would have had to finish at least eighth. The fastest relay in the morning session came from Australia. The final will take place in the evening.
“It was a long night,” said Gose. “You have to process everything somehow.” On Friday she will be competing in the 800 meter freestyle again.
Previously, Artem Selin had no chance against the world’s best in the 50-meter freestyle. The 22-year-old clearly missed the semi-finals in 22.54 seconds.
