The Argentines Nazarene Sasia and Joaquin Gomezwho participated in the tests of athletics shot put and hammer throw, respectively, were eliminated from the finals in the Olympic Games of Paris 2024.
At the Stade de France, Sasia, 1.95 metres tall and weighing 115 kilos, competed in the shot put and finished tenth in her group and twenty-third overall.

Sasia and Gómez were the first to compete in athletics, the king of sports at the Olympic Games. In the following days, Florencia Borelli and Daiana Ocampo will take centre stage in the marathon, Elián Larregina in the 400 metres and Belén Casetta in the 3,000 metres steeplechase.
