Henrik Christiansen is actually a swimmer. But at the Olympics he became the “Muffin Man”. Wherever he is, he shoots videos of the sweet pastries. That made him an internet star.
Henrik Christiansen is actually in favor of the swimming competitions at the Olympic Games. But if you look at his Tiktok account, he seems to be doing one thing in Paris: eating muffins.
The athletes can pick up the pastries for free in the Olympic Village. Christiansen seems to really enjoy the sweet things: so far, almost all of his videos from the Olympic Village have been about muffins.
Olympia: Henrik Christiansen shows his muffin love
In one clip, he is apparently caught hoarding muffins in his bedside table, in the next video he apologizes to a muffin – but he is probably forced to do so, because shortly afterwards he is seen tied up and gagged, as if the muffin were his kidnapper. He is regularly seen with a chocolate-smeared mouth.
The clips went viral, and now other athletes are posting about the sweets. For example, they have finally seen the famous muffins, but don’t want to eat them from the Norwegian swimmer. Other videos show athletes apparently stealing the pastries from the table or proudly holding up a muffin they have managed to get to the camera.
Viral videos brought no luck
Christiansen’s content is well received by Tiktok users. Some say they don’t even know what sport he competes in, but love it nonetheless. Some are even calling for a muffin-shaped medal for the Norwegian.
However, Christiansen’s muffin consumption did not bring him luck: he was eliminated in the preliminary round of the 1500 meters on Saturday.
