Snoop Dogg is the golden mascot of the Olympics

Even though rapper Snoop Dogg is actually paid by the US National Broadcasting Company (NBC), he has long since become the unofficial Olympic mascot. Ever since the rapper carried the torch, he has become an integral part of the competitions. Snoop works for NBC as a TV expert and ratings magnet. As part of this work, he talks to Olympic legend Michael Phelps about swimming techniques, attracts everyone’s attention in his riding uniform, or comments on the competitions alongside Mike Tirico.

NBC hopes to get more viewers because Snoop Dogg attracts young people. And that seems to be working: As producer Molly Solomon recently announced, the musician is said to have helped to bring the Olympic Games in the USA into much clearer focus.

Compared to the games in Tokyo, the ratings this year are said to have increased by 79 percent. This is probably not all down to Snoop Dogg alone, but he is most likely generating increased interest, especially among younger viewers – and his outfits keep him in the headlines.

Investor Henry McNamara writes that he spoke to an NBC executive about the engagement. He was told that Snoop earns half a million US dollars every day plus some expenses.

But that’s not all. As the “” reports, the rapper is in line for a quota-dependent special bonus. If he achieves certain goals, he will be paid up to 15 million US dollars for his “participation” in the Olympic Games.
