“Thank you to all my fans, especially the Americans. I will miss you all,” he said.
Nadal competed in the Olympic Games from Paris at Roland Garros, where she has won 14 singles titles.
The Spaniard, who won Olympic gold in singles at Beijing 2008, fell to eventual champion Novak Djokovic in the second round of singles at Paris 2024, and together with Carlos Alcaraz he fell in the quarter-finals of doubles.
Last month in Bastad, Nadal reached his first ATP final since 2022, losing to Portugal’s Nuno Borges.
Nadal’s last Grand Slam title came at Roland Garros 2022. He last won the US Open in 2019 but will now have missed four of the last five US Opens, with the exception of his fourth-round run in 2022.
