The Argentine forward Julian Alvarez was presented at the Atletico Madrid and assured that he did not feel “a superhero” for having achieved a World and all the titles in his career.
He also spoke about the titles he has won throughout his career, downplayed his achievements in the World Cup and gave his opinion on his move from an English club to a Spanish one.
“First of all, I would like to thank the president (Enrique Cerezo) and all the leaders. All the people who made this possible, the coaching staff, the players, the staff who have welcomed me very well.”were the player’s first words in his presentation.
He also expressed his enthusiasm for his future with the Spanish team: “I’m very happy, very excited. From the first moment I felt the affection of all the Atlético fans.”
“I feel that there are many important players in the team. I think that’s what we are, a team where we all help to keep Atlético de Madrid at the top,” he concluded.

“You always dream of winning, you like to win and compete. I don’t feel like a superhero for having won the World Cup,” the former River player responded when asked about his strong participation in the 2022 World Cup.
He added: “I’m here to contribute my part and fight for all the competitions. From the first moment, even before it was made official, people showed me their love and support. When I arrived in the city I was very happy with the support from the people from the very first moment and I am very grateful.”
“It will be a very nice moment, I’ve heard very good things about the fans so I’m very excited about it,” added the forward.
As for his passage from Manchester City to the Atletico Madridthe Calchín native was blunt in his response: “I needed a change in my career.”
“I was talking to my teammates and hanging out with Giuliano at the Olympic Games. Cholo told me that he wanted me to come to help the team and that they were going to enhance my virtues. Finally, Álvarez spoke about his experience with his former coach, Pep Guardiola, and what he expects from his new Argentine coach: “I have learned a lot from Guardiola, I am very grateful for these two years. Together with Simeone, they are two of the best coaches in history and I feel that I can continue improving and learning in many things.”
“I am very excited to meet a coach like ‘Cholo’, for what he means to this club, to the Spanish League and for everything he gave to world football,” he concluded.
