The Argentine Volleyball Team once again managed to set a milestone in the Pan American Women’s Volleyball Cup by being crowned champion of the edition held in León, Mexico. In the final, the Argentine team beat the United States in three straight sets to claim their second consecutive title.

Even match
Argentina started the first set with an 8-4 leadbut the United States managed to turn the score around, taking an 11-10 lead thanks to solid blocking. However, the Argentines kept their composure and regained the lead with a 15-12, advancing to the end with a 20-17. A decisive attack by Candelaria Herrera secured the first set for Argentina with a score of 25-18.
The second set was also a close one, with the United States taking an 11-8 lead. However, the Panthers recovered and tied the score at 11 with a good run of counterattacks. As the set progressed, the Argentine team consolidated its advantage to close the second set with a 25-20after reaching the final stretch with 20-17.
In the third set, the United States started with an early 5-2 lead and extended the lead to 10-6. However, thanks to a series of effective serves by Victoria Mayer, Argentina came within a point (10-9). As the set progressed, the Argentine team recovered and managed to turn the score around, finally leading with a 15-12.
Undefeated champions
This is Argentina’s second title in the Pan American Cup, in addition to having three bronze medals in its history.The country with the most successes in the tournament is the United States, with seven golds, three silvers and five bronzes.
