“Transfers”, the documentary that tells the stories of the death flights, is coming to theaters

The film will be released on September 6 and will be shown on the big screen for two weeks only. It will then be shown at international festivals.

Prior to his world tour international film festivalson September 6th, “Transfers” will premiere in Argentina, a documentary that reviews the history of the death flights during the last civil-military dictatorship.

The film directed by Nicolás Gil Lavedra and based on an original idea by Zoe Hochbaum It will be on the billboard for only two weeks at the Cacodelphia Art Cinema, and will then be shown at festivals. It already screened at the Marche du Film in the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

What is “Transfers” about?

“Transfers” is the first documentary that brings together, like pieces of a puzzle, the evidence of the most brutal method of extermination of the last dictatorship: the death flights. The film aims especially to resonate in young people and new generations who did not go through this period in history.

“Transfers” reviews the stories of the victims of the death flights.

The overall production was handled by Zoe Hochbaum and Milagros Hadad for Orca Films. The story is told through testimonies from former detainees, family members, journalists and specialists. It also features the participation of the federal judge Daniel Rafecas; by Estela de Carlotto and the pilot, director and actor Enrique Pineiro about the return, in 2023, of one of the aircraft used in the Death Flights to the country, the SKYVAN PA51.

The documentary features extensive archives, animations and shocking images never seen before and addresses key moments, such as the discovery of the bodies of French nuns Léonnie Duquet and Alice Domonthe infiltration of the military man Alfredo Astiz in the group of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo and the shocking testimony from Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Pérez Esquivel.
