Galatasaray has found a new head coach. With Domenec Torrent a longtime assistant of Pep Guardiola comes to the Bosporus.
Domenec Torrent is the new head coach at Galatasaray Istanbul, inheriting the recently dismissed Fatih Terim. President Burak Elmas confirmed this on Tuesday evening.
“We wanted to hire Torrent as Terim’s assistant, but then the situation changed and we hired him as head coach.”
Torrent was Guardiola’s assistant at Bayern
“I got all the information about him,” Gala boss Elmas continued. “I think it is the name that best suits Galatasaray.”
Torrent worked at FC Barcelona as well as FC Bayern and Manchester City as an assistant to Pep Guardiola before working as head coach of New York City in 2018/19 and as coach at Flamengo in 2020.
