Figure skater from Russia Andrei Mozalev updated his personal best with his short program at the European Championships in Tallinn on January 12.
The athlete jumped a cascade – a quadruple sheepskin coat + a triple sheepskin coat, a quadruple salchow and a triple axel.
For rental Mozalev received 99.76 points – this is his new personal record. The skater takes the first intermediate place.
The European Championship takes place from 10 to 16 January in Tallinn.
Earlier, on December 26, the general director of the Russian Figure Skating Federation, Alexander Kogan, spoke about the reasons for Mozalev’s absence from the main squad of the national team at the European Championship. According to him, this was the proposal of the coaching council.
Mozalev’s place was taken by Evgeny Semenenko, who showed the fourth result at the Russian Championship. According to Kogan, Semenenko is a more experienced athlete: during the season he showed better results than Mozalev.
