LASK secured itself with Twardzik

The LASK fixed the first access during the winter break: Filip Twardzik comes from the Slovak first division club Spartak Trnava. With the 28-year-old German-Czech citizen, the athletes secured themselves twice.

The left foot is planned as an alternative for Petar Filipovic if the central defender does not get fit after his operation. Twardzik could also represent winger Rene Renner – he played both positions at Trnava. “The fact that he speaks German is another plus,” said sports director Radovan Vujanovic about the first entry of his tenure, which was a bargain.

Twardzik grew up in Germany and played for Erfurt, Hertha BSC and Celtic Glasgow in his youth. He made his professional debut for the Scots at the age of 18. He landed at Trnava in January 2021 via Bolton, Vitkovice, Ruzomberok and Karvina. “Filip will enrich our game with his speed and his technical skills,” said coach Andreas Wieland. “Although he is a defensive player, he also regularly proves that he can score goals.” For the current table runner-up, Twardzik scored five goals in 20 games in autumn. He wants to follow up on this in a black and white dress: “It’s a very exciting challenge for me.”

Degenek: “Good offer”

Another degree is imminent: Oumar Sako passed the medical check yesterday. The 1.91 meter tall Ivorian central defender played for the Bulgarian first division club Sagora in the autumn. In the case of dream player Milos Degenek, however, the athletes have to wait for the decision of the Australian team player.

The LASK offer was “a very good offer for which I am very grateful,” said the 27-year-old, which he “did not cancel and did not accept”. The central defender is hoping for an offer from Germany, but above all there is the chance of a regular place, as he explained to transfermarkt.de. “I want to find a club where I can play regularly so that I can go to the World Cup.” That’s why he decided to say goodbye to Red Star Belgrade. For the Serbian champions he had only been a reservist in the autumn. “I forego a lot of money in order to be able to switch. I’m a footballer, I want to play and get paid fairly for it.” At LASK, he would be sure to have a regular place.
