Russian figure skaters Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov broke the world record for the sum of points in pair skating at the European Championships in Tallinn. This became known on Thursday, January 13.
Tarasova and Morozov scored 236.43 points in the short and free programs, the Sport-Express newspaper reports.
The result exceeded the previous achievement, owned by the Chinese Sui Wenjing and Han Cong (234.84 points).
All prize-winning places at the European Championship were taken by couples from Russia: in the first place – Mishina and Gallyamov, who set world records in the free program (157.46 points) and in the total score (239.82), Tarasova and Morozov – in second place, in third – Alexandra Boikova and Dmitry Kozlovsky.
On January 13, Russian athlete Kamila Valieva broke her own world record for points in the short program at the European Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn. The Russian woman received 90.45 points for her rental. The previous record was 87.42 points, the skater earned at the Grand Prix stage.
On January 12, figure skaters Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov set a new world record for points scored in the pairs short program. The sports couple scored 82.36 points in the short program.
