Every September 17th, Psychopedagogue Day is celebrated in Argentina. This science attempts to understand and explain human behavior in different situations. Its areas of study include learning psychology, epistemology, psycholinguistics, and didactics, among others.

The aim of psychopedagogy is to maximise the learning of children, young people and adults. That is why its studies cover educational therapies, methods for special education and assistance in children’s learning processes, among other tools.

Why is Psychopedagogue’s Day celebrated in Argentina every September 17?

This event is celebrated September 17 to commemorate the anniversary of Jean Piaget’s deaththe Swiss psychologist whose research achieved important scientific discoveries regarding the construction of thought in human beings.

Piaget died in 1980, and 2 years later, during a congress of professionals held on that date, it was decided to establish it, through an act of the Argentine Federation of Psychopedagogues.
