Finally, Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the long-awaited film Bong Joon-ho, Mickey 17. The director of the Oscar-winning best film, Parasiteconfirmed that The film will be released in January next year.
The feature film was to be released last March, but Warner Bros. opted to release it in theaters Godzilla and Kong: The New Empiredisappointing fans of the Korean director who were eagerly awaiting the film. Along with this decision to remove it from the calendar, its release was scheduled for January 2025.
The reason for the postponement was the Strike by screenwriters and actors in 2023which also caused the delay of many other productions. However, this benefited the director, who was able to polish more details in the film.

Based on the novel Mickey7 From Edward Ashton, the film follows Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson), an expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the frozen world of Niflheim.
Whenever there is a mission that is too dangerous, even suicidal, the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body regenerates with most of its memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey understands the terms of his deal…and why it was the only vacant colonial post when he accepted it.

“The number in the title corresponds to the number of times he dies. I killed him 10 times more than Ashton did in his novel. It’s a science fiction movie, but it’s a human story.“, the director commented on the film.
