The citation was made by the Federal Oral Court (TOF) 6 of CABAthe same as it condemned to four years and three months of prison for three culpable homicides and the injuries suffered by dozens of protesters in the Plaza de Mayo area during the repression of December 20, 2001 against the then radical president Fernando de la Rúa, who was acquitted in the case.


Judge Adriana Pallioti ruled that “since the sentence of four years and three months in prison handed down in the proceedings has become final and is enforceable, Enrique José Mathov – through his defense – is hereby summoned to appear in court on Thursday, September 19 of this year at 9:30 a.m., in order to stand trial and make the arrest effective.”
Former Federal Police Chief De La Rúa ordered to return to the country to serve his sentence
Following the Supreme Court’s confirmation, the Federal Court of Appeals 6 also ordered the second convicted person, former Federal Police Chief Rubén Santos, 78, to return to the country within the next 72 hours to be detained. He is currently traveling in Spain, on judicial leave.
Santos was sentenced to three years and six months for the same crimes as Mathov. His defense also asked for house arrest.
