The highly anticipated horror thriller is based on an original script by Coogler, and the project is set in the 1930s Jim Crow era in the American South and was filmed earlier this year in the New Orleans area. But beyond those basic details, everything about the project, from its title to its plot, had been kept under wraps.

On Monday, it was announced that the supernatural thriller would be titled Sinners. Jordan later shared the movie’s poster (a close-up of the actor in two different costumes) on social media, with the caption: “Dance with the devil… and he’ll follow you home.”
