Fake site taken down for capturing crypto platform account credentials

A fake site captured Binance credentials by contacting victims via SMS, whose accounts were emptied upon logging in to “credit the prize.” The platform calls for only using official means.

A fake site, which captured credentials of Binance platform accounts, was recently decommissioned. It was after verifying that victims were contacted by SMS. These were offered a prize of US$300.

The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Cybercrime (UFECI) requested the National Directorate of Internet Domain Registration the deregistration of the domain of said website.

How the site was managed

The website captured company account credentials and then steal cryptocurrencies of users who gave their access passwords.
