Russian biathletes won the men’s relay at the World Cup

On January 15, Russian biathletes took first place in the relay race at the sixth stage of the World Cup in Ruhpolding, Germany.

The team included Karim Khalili, Daniil Serokhvostov, Alexander Loginov and Maxim Tsvetkov. Biathletes covered the distance of 4×7.5 km in 1 hour 11 minutes 6.1 seconds, using four additional cartridges. The second place was taken by the Germans (+7.0; 2). Belarusians were third (+23.0; 6).

From the result of the Norwegian men’s team, which was seventh (+2.00.6; 10), the judges subtracted two minutes. In the first stage of the relay, Swede Peppe Femling fired at the setting of Norwegian Alexander Fjeld Andersen, who lost a lot of time at the turn because of this and went for two penalty loops.

On January 16, at the World Cup stage in Ruhpolding, women’s and men’s pursuit races will be held.

Earlier, in January 2019, the Russian men’s biathlon team won the four-by-7.5 km relay at the International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Cup in Oberhof, Germany. The team was represented by Alexander Loginov, Maxim Tsvetkov, Dmitry Malyshko and Evgeny Garanichev.
