Russian figure skaters took the entire podium of the European Championship

Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva became the European champion in women’s singles. Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova are in the second and third prize places, respectively, as it became known on Saturday, January 15th.

Thus, the entire podium of the European Championship was occupied by Russian athletes, which was a triumph for the figure skaters. Kamila Valieva won the European championship for the first time in her career. In the free skate, she successfully landed a quadruple salchow and a quadruple toe loop in the triple toe loop combination and scored 168.61 points. According to the sum of performances, the figure skater scored 259.06 points, Sport-Express reports.

Silver award of the competition – Anna Shcherbakova. She jumped a quadruple flip in a free program, and in the sum of two programs she scored 237.42 points. Bronze – Alexandra Trusova. She successfully performed two quadruple jumps in the free program and scored a total of 234.36 points.

On January 13, Kamila Valieva broke her own world record for points in the short program at the European Championship. The Russian woman received 90.45 points for her rental. The previous record also belonged to her – the figure skater earned 87.42 points at the Grand Prix stage.

Earlier, on January 14, following the results of the short program, seven figure skaters in the top eight leaders were natives of Russia. Among the speakers for the Russian Federation – Kamila Valieva in first place, Alexandra Trusova in third and Anna Shcherbakova in fourth.
