The City Police carried out a strong operation this Friday by raiding 197 mantero deposits in the Once area in search of illegal merchandise. The investigation arose within the framework of an investigation that began five months ago and 600 officers participated. Neighbors reported insecurity and obstruction of public roads.
In detail, police sources reported that the operation was carried out “within the polygon made up of Pueyrredón, Rivadavia, Corrientes and Pasteur streets.” The new procedure occurs one month after the one carried out in Parque Centenario, where more than 2,000 manteros were evicted.

IN ELEVEN THE FUCK OVER!
We have just dealt a very hard blow to the mafia that flooded the streets of Once with filth and slave labor. Recovering freedom is also this: enforcing the law. Congratulations to the 600 City Police who put their hearts forward! https://t.co/FEulW3Ifg7

Regarding what happened, the Minister of Security, Waldo Wolf, He assured: “This investigation is comprehensive, it has to do not only with what is kidnapped but with what they are seeinga deployment with which we come to restore public order“. For his part, the secretary of security, Diego KravetzHe added: “The merchandise was seized and a public space operation is being carried out so that the manteros are not installed again on the sidewalk.”
“We assumed in December in a city that there were cuts. We removed the cuts, the raids. That requires a lot of new police on the street that were not used for that before,” Wolff stated.
In this sense, it is not the first operation carried out by the Buenos Aires government of Jorge Macri against the manteros. A month ago, police officers carried out a similar procedure in the Centenario Park, located in Caballito, where more than 2,000 manteros were evicted.

“We did it in Parque Patricios and we did it in Parque Centenario and we did it in Retiro, we did it at the Perette fair, we did it in Constitución and now it’s Once’s turn. The message of the line that the head of Government Jorge Macri lowers is that where we enter to restore order, we do not leave,” concluded the Buenos Aires Minister of Security.
