The government of Javier Milei implemented a new requirement that affects all beneficiaries of the National Social Security Administration (ANSES) who reside outside the country. As of Resolution 918/2024, published in the Official Gazette, it was established that those who remain outside Argentina for a certain period of time will have the collection of their benefits suspended. This measure aims to strengthen control over non-contributory benefits and ensure that the residency requirement is met to receive benefits.
This regulation is added to those already applied in other programs, such as the Universal Pension for the Elderly (PUAM)where the beneficiaries cannot be more than 60 days outside the country. The pension agency will use information from the National Migration Directorate to monitor departures and returns to the national territory.
