“We arrived at a point that is unprecedented in the democratic history of our country and, if this continues, we will be at a point of no return where the entire system ceases to exist as we know it today,” the academic also warned.

The Financing Law seeks to alleviate the salary emergency of teachers, non-teachers and researchers. Regarding this veto, Gelpi pointed out that “we thought that no one could oppose something like this. Unfortunately we were wrong.”

In the name of his role, as the highest representative of the UBA, he asked the members of the Honorable Congress of the Nation, that “today they have the conviction to insist on the sanction of the Law. Hundreds of thousands of students, teachers, non-teachers, researchers and health workers will be observing what happens.” “Historical responsibility is in your hands,” he concluded.
