45 years ago, on an almost forgotten night, the great Bill Evans, jazz legend, made an amazing stop in San Nicolas. At the Rafael de Aguiar Theater, Evans offered an intimate concert that forever marked the cultural development of the city.

That is why this Thursday night the most exciting moment was played by Nicolo native Hugo Giménez, in charge of closing the event by playing on piano the melody that Evans performed in the city in 1979.

Evans was born in New Jersey and studied classical music in New York. His talent transcended borders and reached various parts of the world, including the Buenos Aires town of San Nicolás.

In this regard, Mayor Santiago Passaglia highlighted: “The truth is that it is a luxury that we have given ourselves here in San Nicolás, to honor Bill Evans, this international artist.” He also highlighted the presence of “great musicians from Argentina who showed an incredible level.”

“It is the first Jazz festival we do in San Nicolás. We hope it is the first of many and that we can repeat it next year, betting on culture and at this level,” he assured.

The organization of the event is part of the collaboration provided by EDEN and reaffirms its commitment to the cultural development of communities, promoting San Nicolás as a city of leadership and creativity. This festival highlights the city’s contribution to artistic and cultural heritage through music.

The concert was held with limited space but with free admission and is part of an ambitious project that promises to be a meeting point for artists and fans of the genre, with the intention of repeating the event every October.
