The “law of laws” continues its discussion in Deputies, while the ruling party advances security reforms.
The Executive relativized the need to approve the 2025 Budget project and this week he called Daniel Scioli to be the one who argues in favor of the economic plan of Pink House for next year. On the other hand, the ruling party continues to build consensus on Deputies to turn his proposals into law security and this time he goes for the lowering of imputability.

The presence of Scioli, to the detriment of the one claimed – not only by Peronism – Luis Caputocontributes to the suspicions that the Government does not prioritize the search for agreements to approve its Budget 2025. As occurred with the participation of Patricia Bullrich, who was asked exclusively questions about his management in the Ministry of Security, the current Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports will face recriminations for what they consider his inaction in the face of recent fires in Córdoba and San Luis.

The opposition is beginning to open up to the possibility of having a own opinion on the budget projectdriven by the considered dialogism. This sector was also the most active in the debate over reform of the legislation on DNUswhich began last week with the objective of limiting the power of the Executive to issue decrees and establish new mechanisms for the reversal of these measures to balance the distribution of powers.
Radicalism will have its own discussions this week. After rejecting the possibility of a union reform due to three failed attempts in the Labor Legislation Commission, and in the midst of a conflictive resolution of his internal party in the province of Buenos Airesconsider a breakup of the bloc inevitable. The ratification of the libertarian current in a group of five deputies would end up making coexistence irreconcilable with another sector more reluctant to support the national government. Except for intermediation, which would not come from the governorships nor from the national leadership of the party, the 33-member bench would be reconfigured into two spaces.

Security, the legislative focus of the Government
If the high profile of Patricia Bullrich or the reiteration in the speeches of Javier Milei -who are not in the habit of giving opinions on other agendas outside of the economic one- represent insinuations of the importance that the security area has for the Government, parliamentary activity makes it explicit. This Wednesday, and with a specific PRO boost In all projects, they arranged the discussion four reforms of the Penal Code and Criminal Procedure in a single day. The opposition began to give up its resistance: last week In the Senate, no member of Peronism participated in the discussion of the “Anti-Mafias law”, that seeks sensible reforms to enable arrests and aggravate sentences.
The debate that has the most impact on the public agenda is that of Juvenile Penal Regimewhose centrality of the discussion is placed on the lowering of age of imputability. Only a sector of Peronism – but not the entire Union for the Homeland bloc – and the Left Front defend preserving the current age, set at 16 years. The Government seeks to reduce it to 13, but the consensus of the other spaces aims to establish it at 14. The only obstacle to finishing validating this initiative has to do with the budget items that would involve the hiring of personnel and the construction of infrastructure that could contain the increase in detainees.
With greater consensus, the creation of a federal regime of trial by jurywhich already exists in different provinces of the country. This implementation, together with trial by absencerepresent the main procedural projects that could be reformed in the coming months. In the judicial area, the radical bloc in the Senate organized an event with a clear message towards Javier Milei: they will hold a day to raise awareness about the need for gender parity in Justiceone of the main arguments of those who oppose the appointment of the two ruling party candidates for the Supreme Court of Justice, Ariel Lijo and Manuel García Mansilla.
