Less than a month before the party elections, the candidate for vice president on the former president’s list referred to the tension with the governor of Buenos Aires.
In the midst of growing tension within Peronism, the senator from Formosa and candidate for vice president of the Justicialist Party in the list of Cristina Kirchner, Jose Mayans supported the former president and assured that “It hurts” that the governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, has not yet publicly supported her.

“She said that she respects the position he takes, but that it obviously hurts her, as she is the person who put in all the effort to bring him in to share the effort. She said ‘I respect what the governor decides but obviously it hurts me’“explained the man from Formosa.

José Mayans sought to lower the tension within the PJ
Looking ahead to the internal elections on November 17, in which Kirchner will face the governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, Mayans denied that the former president’s phrase about Pontius Pilate and Judas was directed at her electoral rival.
“I was there when Christina spoke about Pontius Pilate and Judas. He said it clearly for those who wash their hands of what the national government is doing with the Argentine people.and Judas, are the governors who have arrived with the party platform“said the senator.
In that sense, he highlighted that the phrase was addressed to “the Peronists who are going to eat barbecue with (Javier) Milei.”
Regarding the tension between Cristina and Kicillof, the senator noted: “Axel arrived at the governorship accompanied by La Cámpora, but I don’t want to give it so much importance“The central problem is what Milei is doing with the Argentine people.” Along these lines, he assured that after the party elections they will “come together at the same table.”
“I have no doubt that Quintela and his entire team, this ends once the people decide who is driving and we are all sitting together. The important thing is what State we want for Argentinaeducation, health. That must be discussed, the central issue is that, not the other,” Mayans concluded.
