An auto parts factory caught fire this Tuesday afternoon in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of The Paternal. Six fire crews worked to put it out and They evacuated the entire block for prevention.
The incident began in a warehouse located in Frigate Sarmiento at 2800, which consists of a ground floor and first floor. The fire developed throughout the establishment and was tackled by the City Firefighters from the quiet part of the building with a 51 millimeter line, according to police sources.
Then, they carried out an inspection on the sides to prevent the spread, in which the City Firefighters Hydrowashing Unit and another crew that attacked with a 38-millimeter line along General Rodríguez Street.
The origin of the flames, as it was known, was a short circuit in the tank which housed a large amount of plastic. For its part, SAME had to treat a 70-year-old neighbor for smoke inhalation.
Large columns of black smoke could be seen blocks away. Firefighters worked for about two hours to control the fire.
