Champions League: Haaland dream goals: Manchester City with gala

The Norwegian Erling Haaland once again scores sensationally in the Champions League. Sparta Prague has no chance against the English champions. Atlético Madrid, on the other hand, surprisingly fails.

A world-class goal and a perfect finish after a dream combination: Superstar Erling Haaland scored Manchester City’s second victory in the Champions League. In the 5-0 (1-0) win over Sparta Prague, the striker artistically steered the ball into the goal with his heel while lying in the air to make it 2-0 (58th minute).

The Norwegian was also responsible for the 4-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s team (68th). The attacker completed a perfect move through Rico, Lewis, Phil Foden and Matheus Nunes in an ice-cold manner. Foden had given the English champions the lead after just three minutes. John Stones (64′) and Matheus Nunes (88’/penalty) were also successful.

Lille surprises Atletico

Atlético Madrid surprisingly made a mistake in the 1:3 (1:0) draw against OSC Lille. Argentina’s world champion Julian Alvarez’s 1-0 win wasn’t enough (8th minute). Edon Zhegrova (61′) and Jonathan David (74’/foul penalty/89′) turned the match around. The French from Lille had already defeated Real Madrid 1-0 in the second game.

Benfica Lisbon lost to Feyenoord Rotterdam ahead of their next Champions League appearance at FC Bayern Munich on November 6th. The Portuguese lost to the Dutch club 1:3 (0:2).

Thuram scores late for Inter

Inter Milan won 1-0 (0-0) late on against Young Boys Bern, who still had no points. Former Bundesliga professional Marko Arnautovic missed a great chance for Inter to make it 0-1 (48th) with a penalty kick. In stoppage time, ex-Gladbacher Marcus Thuram scored the 1-0 winning goal (90th + 3).

Atalanta Bergamo couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against Celtic Glasgow. The Italians will be visiting VfB Stuttgart on the next matchday. RB Salzburg remains without a goal and without a point after a 0:2 (0:0) against Dinamo Zagreb.
