Ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar have begun

On Wednesday, January 19, the first stage of ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup matches began, which will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar. This was reported by the press service of the International Football Federation (FIFA).

The first stage of sales will last until February 8. During this period, you can apply for the purchase of tickets. If the number of entries exceeds the number of seats available, tickets will be distributed by random draw.

Tickets for group stage matches for foreign fans can be purchased from 250 to 800 QAR ($69 to $220) and 40 QAR ($11) for locals. A ticket for the final match for foreign fans costs from 2200 to 5850 Qatari rials (from $604 to $1.6 thousand), for local football fans it will cost 750 Qatari rials ($206). Tickets can be ordered at FIFA.com/tickets.

The second stage will take place before the World Cup draw on 1 April. Fans will be able to purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. Further stages of sales will take place after the draw.

The FIFA World Cup is the first such tournament in the Middle East. More than six months remain before its start, but the country is already actively preparing for the main sports tournament. The organizers promised that many emotions await fans from all over the world. During the day they will be able to visit more than one match, and in their free time to get acquainted with the sights of Qatar.

According to the results of the qualifying tournament for the World Cup, the Russian national team took second place in group H, gaining 22 points in 10 matches, Sport-Express notes. On November 26, the draw took place in Zurich, according to the results of which the Polish team became the opponent of the Russian team in the playoff semi-finals for the right to play at the World Championships in Qatar.
