Despite these doubts, Holland maintains that the BLC-1 signal is not noise or interference, but rather a narrow electromagnetic field, which reduces the probability that its origin is terrestrial. The signal lasted approximately five hours and appears to come from a area near Proxima Centauria star located 4.2 light years from our planet.
