The league is preparing for the fact that additional games – as is currently regularly necessary – will be “difficult to realize in the intermediate round due to the tight schedule”. Therefore, the BSL introduced two “thresholds” for the time after the regular season.
“If not all, but more than five game days can be held in the placement round, only the first five games will be counted. If fewer than five rounds are played, the table of the basic round will be used for the knockout phase,” it said. In the view of the league, there will probably also be no additional games in the play-offs due to the tight schedule. If a team cannot provide enough players, “that would be force majeure”.
In addition, the cup will be played in a Final 4 tournament on February 5th and 6th. Gmunden meets the winner of the match BC Vienna against St. Pölten.
