Real Madrid: Fabio Cannavaro dreams of coaching at Los Blancos

Fabio Cannavaro has been in China since 2017 and works there as a trainer. But the Italian would love to return to Real Madrid one day.

Former Italian defender and current coach Fabio Cannavaro (47) has a big dream: He would love to coach Real Madrid one day.

In a detailed interview with Real Madridista said the current coach of the Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande about his plans – and was asked about a possible return to the Spanish capital, which is always an option for him. “Hopefully, hopefully. Because my dream as a coach is to go back there. It’s a wonderful place for me,” said Cannavaro.

“I started working for it because I’m working on getting back one day and coaching a club like Real Madrid. If you want to be a coach you have to think of the top, and the top is Madrid, the Italian national team or a big club in Europe. I am sure that I have to be ready to achieve that, ”said Cannavaro of the dream of one day being a real coach.

Real Madrid: Cannavaro played for Los Blancos for three years

The central defender and former world footballer from 2006 already played for Los Blancos during his playing days. For three years – from 2006 to 2009 – he put on the royal white jersey.

During this time he won two Spanish championships and in 2008 the Supercopa. “My time in Madrid didn’t start easily, but in the end I think we did very well because I was one of the people who played the most and someone who got along well with everyone,” said gleaned the now 47-year-old back.

After Sergio Ramos’ departure to PSG, Cannavaro only knows one player from the current Real squad personally: Captain Marcelo. In Cannavaro’s eyes, the greatest hope for the club’s future rests on midfielder Federico Valverde. “I think he will be one of the best at Madrid for the next ten years.”

The contract of the UEFA Pro license holder Cannavaro with Guangzhou runs until the end of 2022.
