Steel Wings: “A small step to great ice hockey in Linz”

The separation of the Black Wings from manager Gregor Baumgartner opens a new form of cooperation between the ICE Hockey League team and the team from the Steel Wings as well as the Ice Hockey Academy Upper Austria. The Black Wings broadcast talks about “trend-setting decisions” for the benefit of Linz ice hockey. Steel Wings boss Konrad Linner has been in cooperation talks with the Black Wings for a long time and now sees “a small step on the way to great ice hockey in Linz”. Now everyone is required to take further steps towards the big goal.

In the next few days, representatives and supporters of Linz ice hockey will sit down and discuss how to proceed. Under the motto “Everyone who wants to help is welcome”, the basis for a long-term and sustainable bundling of strengths is to be laid. “Peter Nader and Konrad Linner, as representatives of their clubs, took this step in many discussions. Now that the Black Wings want to open up, we are also available to support you with our experience and our opinions. We look forward to working together and hope that we will also implement our ideas together, as we have discussed them,” says a broadcast.

In addition to the cooperation with the team in the Alps Hockey League, the plans also include the youth department of the Steel Wings. That’s why Robert Lukas, head of the next generation, decided to inform the parents about the current state of affairs. The e-mail in the wording:

“Hello dear parents! You may have heard it in the media. In addition to the separation of Black Wings Linz from Gregor Baumgartner, it is also mentioned that a cooperation has been discussed for a long time.

In order to anticipate speculation, I would like to make a short statement:

Even before the split, we always signaled that nothing would stand in the way of a sporting cooperation between the clubs in Linz under the necessary framework conditions.

I can assure you that our decisions in this regard are always made in the interests of the offspring and that their well-being will come first.

The Black Wings Linz are willing to talk and as a club that was and is always interested in working together instead of against each other, we will of course seek dialogue and always try to find the best solution in terms of youth work together and yet as an independent youth club to find.”
