Argentina is positioned as the country that leads in Latin America the digital transformation in regards to means of payments, with a record level of 95% of inhabitants who use payment applications on their mobile devices, a figure that exceeds the average for the region.
Furthermore, Argentina leads the region in terms of frequent use of digital accounts and transfersconsolidating itself as a pioneer in the transition towards a financial ecosystem that is presented as safer and more efficient.
This is reflected in a recent report prepared by the market research company Ipsos. The study analyzes the patterns of adoption and use of payment methods in 14 countries in the region, including Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
“We have detected that the Argentines have proven to be true early adopters in the region, opting for payment methods that provide them with greater benefits, efficiency and control of their personal finances,” commented Alejandra Fishkel, Innovation and Marketing Lead at Ipsos Argentina.
Among the factors that influence early adoptionArgentina stands out for the “ease of use” (84%) and the “benefits” (51%) associated with these digital payment methods.

The report is based on data from more than 7,800 people and reveals how Argentines have widely adopted digital tools for financial transactions.
It also focuses on analyzing the context in each country, the frequency and use of payment methods, the ownership of apps, online purchases and control of funds. It includes a chapter referring to the use of cash, and how it tends to disappear.
