The pilot Leonel Perniawith Renault, today became champion of the TC2000 for the fourth time by winning the second final race in Río Hondo Hot Springs corresponding to the tenth date of the championship.
For its part, Franco Vivian (Honda) and Matias Rossi (Toyota) completed the podium.
At the beginning of the race, Pernía and Facundo Aldrighetti (Renault) had a rough start, in which the four-time champion overtook him to place first and begin a firm journey towards the title.
Later, the pilot from Villa Regina and Rossi had a clash which Vivian took advantage of to defeat both and place herself in second place.
In turn, two great drivers such as Aldrighetti himself and Luis José Di Palma (Fiat) were involved in a crash in which the two vehicles were left on the side of the track, so the safety car had to be deployed.
In the relaunch, Pernía well controlled Vivian’s attempts to overtake him and move him to second place, and managed to settle more calmly into first position.
Likewise, with too much solvency, the 49-year-old Renault driver managed to gain a great advantage over his pursuers to seal a new championship in the category, with two races remaining.
The eleventh date of the 2024 TC2000 season will take place on November 24 at the Alta Gracia racetrack.
Pernía had achieved second place in the first final race, behind Aldrighetti, and in this second he had to manage to increase the advantage over the championship runner-up, Rossi, to become champion early.
After several intense laps, the Renault rider showed all his experience to take the victory in a calm and comfortable manner.
