End for cycling sports director Patrick Moster: After his racist comment on the racetrack on Wednesday, he now has to leave the Olympic Games early.
Cycling sports director Patrick Moster has to return home early after his racist derailment at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The German Olympic Sports Confederation decided on Thursday.
In the Olympic individual time trial, Moster caused a scandal when he cheered on Nikias Arndt from Cologne with racist words to overtake the Algerian Azzedine Lagab, who was driving in front of him. Moster had apologized for his choice of words, and there had been a clarifying discussion with the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). So far there have been no further consequences.
